East Coast Trip [
April 30th, 2007 • 5:23pm
]
note: crossposted here

Our trip to the East Coast was fun. A lot of fun. Though it happened over a month ago, I'm finally writing about it.

The crew consisted of Pat, Jon Jon, Elaine, Mylene and me. We stayed over at Pat's crib. His family was more than accommodating. Almost a little too accommodating. Sike. They're good people. Real good. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted to, but something's better than nothing. Unless you're talking about STD's. Then nothing's better than something. Or is it? teehee.

We stayed in Elizabeth, New Jersey. First day's weather? About 80 degrees. Not bad, Jersey, not bad at all. Second day's weather? Snow. The locals didn't seem too happy about it, but damn it! I'm from cali! I hardly ever see snow. But that's cool. It's hard to c-walk in snow, cuh. All the vegas heads enjoyed the snow a lot. Don't believe me? Just look at Elaine.

We hit up a grimey Chinese place, Gray's Papaya, Times Square, drove by Ground Zero, almost died thanks to Juno's driving, shopped at China Town, ate at China Town (bomb, by the way). I'm sure we did other things, but the highlight was the people we met. Everyone over there on the east are good peoples. Just like a corny interview with a rapper, I'd like to give shout outs to all the people who made us feel at home: Jaems, Pat, Pat's great parents, Kim "porkchop", Rongie (sp?), Ryu, Fernan, Maan, Iris, Charlotte, Killette, Ian, Paco, Maria, Pei Weezy, BJ, Chunk, Raj, and so many more that are probably gonna stab me with a butter knife for forgetting.

A couple weeks after our trip, a bunch of the east coast heads came into town. Surprisingly, I didn't get to take ANY pictures while they were here. And I feel bad for that. But I didn't lose sleep. I got to make up for it, however, when Jaems came into town a week after Kim, Rongie, Maan, Fernan, BJ, and Pei Wu left. This time I got some pictures, as you can see (pictured with Boom). You can find more here, here, and here.

Alright, tata for now. And not the breast type of tata's, either.

I had a dream a few nights ago that I was eating at a Chinese restaurant, and sitting at the table next to me was E-40. I have no idea what this means, but it has to be good because I'm a fan (not a huge one) of E-40's music, and I love Chinese food.

Proof (of D12 and Eminem fame), one of my favorite rappers, was killed. I obviously wasn't close to him, but he'll still be missed.

On a lighter note, I'm really likin Google Calendar.

Why didn't anyone tell me about this site? http://www.bugmenot.com/

It's probably old news, but still... I didn't know about it until now. Bitches.

Brothers? They have to be...

From left to right: Kyle Korver, NBA player for the Philly Sixers; Ashton Kutcher, you know him; Mark Appleyard, profession skateboarder (real good, too).

They're like Hanson, only not as gay.

Whispering helps [

Wow. A real cute blonde who sits next to me in a class of mine talks nonstop, and very loudly. I don't know if she realizes how loudly she speaks sometimes; prime example... today half the room overheard her talking to a close friend of hers about how she got crabs from some random dude. Now tell me why I'm still jealous.

Back in high school, I naively thought I'd always have, or make, time to hang out with everyone all the time. Damn, I was wrong. And not only that, but despite all the time I dedicate to work and school, I'm still lagging at school. Oh well. Can't stress too much over that, I guess.

I recently got back into skating, which is a little weird considering most of the guys I know who used to skate have "outgrown" it. But hey, it's fun and addicting.

And for all you firefox users, I finally jumped on the bandwagon and tried out Greasemonkey. A lot of the scripts actually are really useful. You can find the more popular scripts here.

I'm hoping I can get hooked up with this tech support job from a friend of mine. Working at a billing office for a portable x-ray company isn't exactly a job I want to stay at. But hey, I love the people I work with.

Lastly, I can't forget to mention how much I love the show The Office. I rank it up there with Family Guy.

Warning: stupid ass entry

A few months ago, the place I worked at moved to a new office. Because they're cheap, they gave us a container containing (yup, a container contains things) candy as a congratulatory gift. The container was a box-like thing with some random girl's picture on the four sides. Here it is

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Because I don't really work at work, I decided to take a break from my nap (while on the clock) and do something with the girl's picture. Behind my desk/cubicle space is a window. You can't really tell from this picture, but just believe me, because I believed you guys when no one else did

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

There's this little hole in the wall of my desk where the light from the window shines through. So here's what only the most creative mind in the world could've done....

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Yup, I cut her head out, poked holes through her eyes, and stuck it on my wall. Sometimes I'm so impressed at my own art that I feel like buying it off of myself.

Oh yeah, here's what happens when you get back into skating, and realize you still suck...

That's not my elbow. Just a real bad bruise. Girls who feel sorry for me... call me. Guys who feel sorry for me, stop reading my livejournal.

I just recently found out that a girl who I knew from high school (pretty hot, too) now poses nude. And because of that, I'm declaring this past one the best thanksgiving I've ever had. I'm thankful for old friends posing nude.

WHAT? A SERIOUS ENTRY? NO WAY! I just felt like it.

I let out a sigh of relief as I made it safely to Frisco. It was still early morning, and with my windows rolled down, I could see the morning joggers treading their daily trodden paths on the piers. The cool bay air felt amazing against my Vegas-kissed skin. The beautiful bay water, not even a hundred feet away from where I had parked, looked tempting enough to drink from. It felt good to be back in the bay. No... it felt GREAT to be back.

Just as quickly as the relief had seeped into me, it left me. I was about to meet her for the second time. Despite talking to her everyday on the phone or online, the anxiety of finally matching the face to the personality was immense.

She was still inside the restaurant as I waited in the beat up van I borrowed from a friend. I decided to call my manager from work to get my mind off of how nervous I was. My manager and I discussed how my schedule would be upon my arrival back to Vegas. I would be working the same day I'd be getting back from Cali. How typical of that broad to not even give me time to adjust before getting back to work. I was so caught up in the conversation that I didn't realize it: SHE was standing outside the passenger side, giving me the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. All the pictures I'd seen of her didn't even begin to capture her true beauty. The breeze blew through her hair, flailing the long strands in front of her face. Her hair covered her face for a bit, and every now and then those amazing almond eyes would peek through, drawing me even closer to her.

"Are you still there?"

I had completely forgotten I was still on the phone with my manager. I told her that I would call her the next day and promptly hung up. Meanwhile, she had opened the door and climbed into the passenger seat of the van. I felt like a kid again. Why did I feel so shy? Why couldn't I look her in the face? I could feel her beautiful brown eyes boring a hole into the side of my face.
"Are you gonna stay quiet the whole time?"

I turned slowly to meet her eyes. Pure beauty. Until her, I had never met a person who represented beauty in perfection. I know that no one is perfect. But at that moment, in my eyes, she was as close to perfect as anyone would get. "No" was all I could mutter.

We decided to drive over to Pier 39. I drove into the multilevel parking garage and looked for the loneliest parking spot so as to have our privacy. The spot was overlooking Pier 39, and we could still see the fitness fanatics jogging their little hearts out. It would still be over an hour until the shops would start to open on the pier. I asked her if she wanted to just walk the pier. Surprisingly, she declined and just wanted to talk inside the van for the time being.

"Are you sure you wanna stay in here?"

"Yeah, I'm sure."

I didn't get it. How were we supposed to enjoy our time together while sitting in this beat up van? I expected long awkward silences. I anticipated her sighing from boredom. I dreaded her asking me to take her back to the restaurant. But I was wrong. The one or two hours we spent in the van escaped us with no warning. That's how amazing she is. The smile she put on my face starting at the beginning of our conversation would remain for the rest of the day, maybe even the rest of the week. I'll never forget that time we shared. The events that happened in the van would normally be insignificant to me or any other guy, but somehow she managed to turn them into memories I would cherish to this day and onto forever.

"Damn, someone needs to organize your wallet!"

"Hey, I'm a guy. That's how wallets are supposed to be."

I had to admit, my wallet was crap. She grabbed my wallet from my hand and flashed me a smile. I loved it. I was still admiring her smile when I realized she was almost done organizing my wallet. In her hand were all my fortunes saved from fortune cookies. Each one of them reminded me of her, hence their home in my wallet. The sun was starting to seep through the morning fog, and it seemed the lone rays of light were pointing directly at her as if to enhance her beauty even more.

Finally we agreed it was time to check out the tourist-favorite that is known as Pier 39. As we walked to the elevator in the parking garage, I made eye contact with her. Meeting eyes with some random attractive person that you see on the street is but a thrill of the moment. One glance into the eyes of someone you love leaves a lasting impression in your eyes. I grabbed her hand and left it in mine. It pretty much stayed there for the rest of the day.

Pier 39 is effin beautiful. If I were to be homeless and sleep on a bench, it would definitely have to be a bench at Pier 39. It was still fairly empty, which I wasn't used to seeing. But it gave me a comforting sense of privacy and intimacy between the two of us. We visited some of the shops, bought some stuff, ate some ice cream, and took a few pictures to remember that day. I didn't think it was possible, but it felt like my whole body was smiling.

All my life I had always felt a little out of place, even amongst the closest of friends. I was lacking that one person I could truly confide in, that one heart to match my own. That day opened my eyes wide enough to see that she was it. She was the real deal. All the past moments of my life where I ever felt lonely were overshadowed by this one day with her. That's how amazing she is.

So the reason I haven't been posting on here is................ I've gone to the dark side. That is, xanga. Hey, don't hate. But I still read all my LJ friends' entries. Why? Because honestly, LJ users have more interesting posts, and that's no joke.

Crazy ass day. I got in my first real car accident in which I was driving. But it wasn't my fault, so I still consider myself the best driver out there.

Alright, here's how it went...

I stopped at a stop sign. I'm serious, I even did the two second stop and everything, not that California rolling stop BS. No cars at the other stop signs. I started accelerating, thinking that any cars approaching would slow down and stop (like they're supposed to, since it's a 4 way stop). Unfortunately, I was mistaken. Some crazy broad was going at least 50, in a 35 zone. I saw her at the last moment and tried to brake, but I still ended up t boning her. Her car spun out and she hit some construction pylons. I'm glad I was driving the Landcruiser, because I wasn't even phased. The front of the suv didn't even look like it was hit. So I pulled over to the side, and immediately she comes out of her car and says "DUDE! WHY DIDN'T YOU STOP?" Oh man, I would've knocked her out right there, but a witness was already pulling over. So I shouted back "what the hell are you talking about? YOU'RE the one who didn't stop." I could tell she was lit or drunk. So we started to exchange information, but she didn't want to report the accident to the police. But the witness already said he had called and an officer was on the way. So what happens? The black lady (who ran the stop sign) fled. All I got from her was her license plate, her name, and her home number. She said she was late for work (even though her son was in the back. Who goes to work with their son?). I try telling her to wait, but she drives off and almost clips me with her side mirror. The cops literally come an hour and a half later after calling them... twice (I dialed 311, not 911). They ran a check on her license plate, and they figure the reason she fled is because she had a warrant for her arrest.

If I see that lady on the street, I'm gonna have to pull off my earrings and do some damage. Someone better hold me back...

I've actually been productive the past few days. I haven't procrastinated, I haven't been idle, and my room's nice and tidy. I can only find one cause for this improvement: I haven't played Starcraft in two weeks. Video games = the devil. Proud of me? I know I am.
